Zebra Teabag is a ceramic teapot in the form of a zebra-patterned handbag.

  • A commissioned piece hand-built of stoneware clay using press-mold slab construction. Handles were originally erect but were remodeled to their current more pleasantly stylistic shape as a gift from the kiln gods during the process of firing.
  • Construction sequence: Fired initially to cone 06. Underglazes hand-painted to create the faux zebra pattern. Clear glaze sprayed onto surfaces Refired to cone 6, reshapng handles. Mother of pearl luster applied over all. Final firing to cone 017.
  • Displayed at Nich Awards exhibition, Philadelphia Buyer's Market for American Craft 2005.
  • Niche Awards Finalist in Teapot competition 2005.
  • Size: 15.0" x 9.75" x 9.5".
