Creative Process

Creative process illustrated.

  • This piece was designed to be similar to the ceramic work, Twinling's Teafarers, but with a number of subtle and overt differences.
  • The original concept was advanced and tweaked to create another unique new art work.
  • The porcelain clay, which was of my own making, was formulated in an effort to achieve richer and more vivid colors in the finished ceramic product.
  • Moreover, the teapot was designed to show greater fluidity. This was achieved by exercising the expression of its freedom of motion and flow.
  • The ship upon which the seahorses were mounted was redesigned to give it more height and thus provide a more dynamic appearance than that of the original work.
