  • This wheel-thrown teapot was made of porcelain clay.
  • It was designed by the buyer as a wedding gift to reflect the couple's theme of orange roses.
  • The handle was made by press mold.
  • The lid and the handle were adorned with carved orange roses. This proved to be a special challenge in creating this work, although successfully achieved.
  • The couple's names were memorialized on the lid.
  • Construction sequence: Fired and cone 06. Underglazes used for hand-painted roses. Clear glaze spray-painted over this. Refired to cone 6. Mother of pearl luster than applied to the entire surface to finish the piece.
