- This iteration in my Lobster Series is further modified in structure and design. I wanted to recreate a lid in the style of the original truly classic Maine red and white tablecloth. I intended to supplement this with a matched braided golden handle.
- The teapot base is wheel-thrown and altered. A hand-built lobster tail, formed from templates made from actual lobster tail segments, is appended. The claws and legs are slip cast from molds that were also made from a lobster.
- Construction sequence:
- First fired to cone 06.
- Underglazes then applied.
- Fired again to cone 6.
- Completed with cold finishes in China paints.
- Exhibited at VisArts, Rockville, MD.
- Date: 2009.
