Leap After Leap is a ceramic vase decorated in black, tan and gold.

  • This vase was made of two separately thrown pieces of stoneware clay.
  • The segments were subsequently combined using the score and slip technique.
  • Wording used for embellishment is a quotation from Agnes de Mille, reading "Living is a form of not being sure, not knowing what next or how. The moment you know how, you begin to die a little. The artist never entirely knows. We guess. We may be wrong, but we take leap after leap in the dark."
  • Consruction sequence: Air-brushed and hand-painted underglazing applied. Wording inscribed. First fired to cone 06. Then refired to cone 6. Cold finish with gold leaf added.
